UKRAINIAN NON-GOVERNMENTAL ORGANISATIONS IN INDEPENDENT POLAND

Abstract

The article analyses activities of Ukrainian NGOs in Poland, their influence on public authorities and their cultural and educational mission among the population. It focuses on the extensive work of the Association of Ukrainians in Poland, the Union of Ukrainians Podlasie, and the Ruska Bursa Society among others. It demonstrates that even within a foreign state Ukrainians retain their ethnic identity.
