The article deals with the specifi cs of the Ukrainian-Polish relations in the fi eld of historical memory and interethnic commemorative communication. Special attention is given to the historical policies of Ukraine and Poland after changes in the Ukrainian political landscape in 2019. The practices of media presentation of the common Ukrainian-Polish cultural heritage are shown.History policies in Ukraine and Poland have been implemented within the framework of the Eastern European model with a pronounced tendency to remain part of the global trend of interpreting history for political purposes. The election of Volodymyr Zelenskyi as the President of Ukraine and the coming to power the «Sluha Narodu» party have raised hopes among Polish and Ukrainian analysts for a change in tactics in Polish-Ukrainian relations in the fi eld of historical memory. The declarative statements of the President of Ukraine regarding the search for new models of relations were heard against the background of unresolved problems – the destroyed Ukrainian places of national memory in Poland and the Polish side’s ban on conducting exhumation searches on the territory of Ukraine. The centenary of the Ukrainian-Polish military-political union in 1920 and the discussions on interethnic confrontation during World War ІІ demonstrated the low involvement of the Ukrainian political class in the historical policies domain.Ukrainian and Polish national policies of memory in 2019–2021 continued to be implemented in the fi eld of a revival of common cultural heritage. The socio-political situation in Poland and its foreign policy towards Ukraine proved the lack of resentment among the Polish political and intellectual elite for the lost eastern territories. The formation of national identity around the common history took place through the state support of cultural and educational products, such as the visual project «Lost Borders. In the Footsteps of the Second Polish Republic», which was a part of Polish cultural diplomacy and the politics of memory.
