Abstract

An overview of approaches to nation building that have existed in Ukrainian society is offered. Particular attention is paid to the perspectives of national minorities in order to understand the internal contradictions in Ukrainian society, as well as the challenges that arise before modern international standards for the protection of the rights of national minorities. An analysis is made of how specific national minorities treated the idea of building a civic nation. An emphasis is also placed on the study of the influence and interpretation of relevant legislation.
