THE ATTITUDE OF DOMINICANS IN LVIV ARCHDIOCEZAN TO UKRAI- NIAN NATIONAL MOVEMENT IN THE SECOND PART OF THE 19TH – 30S OF THE 20TH CENTURIES

In the article, the attitude of the Dominican Order to the Ukrainian national movement in the second part of the 19th – 30s 20th century is shown. Relation to Ukrainian revival is viewed from an interconfessional relationship position in Lviv archdiocesan. The relationship between Dominican Order and the Greek-Catholic Church is characterized by some aspects of cooperation and elements of confrontation aiming to keep their infl uence. Interconfessional relationship in Lviv archdiocesan in spiritual and economic life is elucidated. As pointed out, pastoral and missionary activities were the most important aspect of the common functions of the Dominican Order and the Greek-Catholic Church.Cooperation in scientifi c and cultural life was separated. These about the politicization of interconfessional relationships in Lviv archdiocesan from the beginning of World War I was put forward. The secular power of Austria-Hungary and the Second Rich Pospolyta infl uenced the state of the relationship between representatives of Roman-Catholic and Greek-Catholic rites. Indiff erent attitude of the Dominican Order to Ukrainian national revival in the second part of the 19th century and negative in the interwar period is detected.As argued, monks-preachers in 1920–30 years represented Polish political position because of their origin. These about injustice of economic relationship aspects of Ukrainians and anti-Ukrainian confrontation between Dominican Order and Greek-Catholic church, to keep the cultural heritage, was put forward.
