Відстежено витоки тези про те, що Олександр Солтан був кавалером Ордену Золотого руна, які виявляються в “Посланні Мисаїла до папи Сикста IV”, точніше у перекладах на польську. Представляє деякі етапи рецепції цієї думки у різних галузях та її поширення протягом історії та до теперішнього часу. Також запропоновано можливі лінгвістичні та історичні вирішення цієї проблеми.
